MENTAGRAMM II
SCENERY, KD-L47, INTERVENTION AND NEOPROJECTION
Alexander Nickl is a light artist and neoprojectionist. Over nine years, he worked on an inner world, depicted in Mentagrams, which is documented in depth in the Viennese ‘Mentagramm I’. The subsequent publication, ‘Mentagramm II’, presents new Mentagrams from 2014 to 2016, which tell of an outside world. This world is shown in numerous stage settings under the spotlight of the neoprojectionist theater. These ‘stage setting landscapes’ consist of flowers, trees, dream images, contacts to artists, and news items. The question of which stage settings make their way into the presentation of the neoprojectionist theater is decided by a kind of Deus ex machina, the KD-L47.

CHAPTER 1
LOGOS
The journey started in the heart
and longed for you.
Every single picture,
every single day,
every single year
a trembling, searching, feverishly.
I did not know you,
but my longing,
it sought you.
Oh wonder,
suddenly you were there!
No coincidence may grant this happiness.
Only fate’s foundations,
the primal ground of connectivity,
can bear this happiness.
Oh, what richness,
what taste this journey gave me,
is so much and more,
so that I do not grasp it,
least of all understand anymore.
